Welcome to the Cass School District No. 63’s website!

Cass School District No. 63 is an Illinois, DuPage County two-school district serving approximately 950 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eight who reside in portions of Darien, Willowbrook and unincorporated areas of Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, Hinsdale and Lemont. Our schools are located in suburban Darien roughly 15 miles west of Chicago. In addition to being a part of the city of Darien, Argonne National Laboratory is a part of our community. The variety of interests and professions of our school families provides us with a student population that is diverse in their culture, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.

Concord Elementary School serves children in prekindergarten through fourth grades. The prekindergarten program is an at-risk program funded primarily by a State of Illinois grant. Preschool screenings are scheduled twice a year to identify three, four and five year old children who would benefit from participation in our First Step program. Kindergarten students are served in a half-day program with an option to be supplemented with our tuition-based Extended Day Kindergarten program for the other half of the school day. Children are eligible in the state of Illinois to enter kindergarten if they are five years old on, or before September 1 of the year they begin school. Students in grades first through fourth have a full day comprehensive instructional program, which includes Art, Music and Physical Education.

Cass Junior High School serves our fifth through eighth grade students. Students in all grade levels have quality instruction in the basic skills, as well as, in the Arts and Physical Education. In addition, elective class offerings and many extra-curricular opportunities are available to enhance our students’ learning process. As a feeder school district for Hinsdale High School District No.86, our faculty works diligently to support the high school curriculum to prepare our students for a smooth and successful transition.

As you peruse our website you will observe the many faculty and staff who serve our students. We are fortunate to have a healthy combination of veteran and new faculty members who bring outstanding teaching and learning skills and strategies daily to our learning environments. As a result, our students are able to extend and enhance their skills and knowledge in order to be lifetime learners and successfully compete in the 21st Century.

Thanks to the dedication of our faculty and staff, strong support from the school community and leadership from the Board of Education, we are proud to uphold the Cass School District’s motto Where the focus is on the child. This focus and these efforts have lead our school district to be consistently recognized for high academic student achievement and receive numerous awards while establishing and maintaining a long stable, fiscally efficient, sound organization which is a responsible steward of public funds.
