Mr. Pasquinelli's, Industrial Arts Home Page

Over the past year the Industrial Arts program has gone through some curriculum changes. Along with adjustments in the length of some courses it this has also added to the number of students taking Industrial Arts. We find we have more students enrolled in classes this year then any other previous year. The following is a breakdown of the course levels offered this year in Industrial Arts.

Sixth Grade Exploratory: Each sixth grade student is required to take the exploratory program. This program consists of four 9 week classes: Industrial Arts, Health, Spanish and Art. In this first Industrial Arts class students learn the basics of woodworking, hand tool use, along with some power and hand tools.

Seventh Grade Exploratory: This is a  trimester program where students spend 12 weeks in Industrial Arts, Art and Performing Arts. The Industrial arts class is a continuation of the sixth grade program where students do more advanced project work and more use of power and machine tools.

Eight Grade Industrial Arts: This is a full semester course (18 weeks). It is not required that students have taken I.A. in seventh grade but it is helpful. The emphasis in this course is projects are selected and designed by students. All students are not only required to design their own projects but also create a set of plans to add to our computer file of project plans.
