"As their right, all children must have the opportunity to grow in music knowledge, skills, and appreciation so as to bring joy and satisfaction to their lives, challenge their minds, stimulate their imagination, and exalt their spirits."

From the Children's Bill of Rights in Music--MENC

At Cass School District 63, we are thrilled to offer a Vocal Music Program that is rich and diverse.  Students not only have the opportunity to experience General Music in the 5th and 6th grades, but also may have the opportunity to participate in a 7th grade Drama class, as well as Choruses at three different levels.

Throughout the year, students present a variety of performances.  Students who elect to be in the 7th grade Drama class perform daily with peers, and present a one to three minute monologue for their final project.  Students involved in the various choruses present several formal concerts throughout the year, as well as caroling, choral competitions, and a spring musical.

Through active participation in class and performances, students will develop many other skills that are necessary to an emotionally happy and healthy life. Students will stimulate creativity, develop social skills, increase self-esteem, and develop confidence.
