Mrs. Patrey's Home Page

Welcome to Fifth Grade Reading and Math!  My goal for all students is to be successful learners while instilling a joy of learning.

While enjoying stories, students are also improving their reading skills, such as vocabulary, comprehension, and making inferences.  Students have the opportunity to read what they choose through book reports.  Students identify the characters, setting, problem, and its solution.  It's important to experience the joy of reading with your family!

In Math class, students reinforce skills and gain knowledge in new skills, such as decimals, fractions, and measurement.  It is essential for all students to master their basic math facts, especially multiplication, in order to be successful in math class.  Take out those flashcards and practice!

My goal is to offer many opportunities for students and their many unique talents and abilities.  The interaction among school, parents, and community enrich opportunities for students to grow into confident, independent learners.

Students will enjoy many fun, exciting activities throughout the year that will make fifth grade a memorable year!
