General Information

As our third graders travel along the road of knowledge, they will be immersed in activities that will incorporate a variety of core academic subjects.

Our students will continue to develop their reading skills with an emphasis on independent reading and critical thinking. In addition we concentrate on an extended response to different genres of literature. The students reflect on the passage and use examples from the story to answer questions.  It seems challenging, but you will be surprised at how they rise to the occasion.

In math, the students are introduced to multiplication and division facts and lots and lots of problem solving. This is the year that will emphasize the application of their learned skills.

Science and Social Science provide opportunities for students to expand their knowledge about the world around them. Many hands-on activities are performed to help the students make meaningful connections.
