Mr. Shingler's Home Page

Welcome to fourth grade!  My goal is to prepare the students for junior high and make their last year at Concord a memorable one.

To attain this goal, I treat each student like an individual and realize everyone learns differently.  When planning my lessons I use different teaching techniques to fit the many learning styles. When students succeed it helps to build their self-esteem.

One highlight in fourth grade is  the science fair.  Every student is responsible for designing their own experiment.  It turns out to be an exciting day when the students display their projects.

Homework is one way to practice the skills that are taught each day. All students are accountable for the quality  their homework. Having said this, parents are encouraged to review and and check the daily assignments.

Besides homework, parents can be involved in many different ways with their child's education.  One way is to read with your child each night to promote a love for books and learning.  Also, parent volunteers are always needed for fieldtrips and classroom projects.

Every day is a new experience and Concord is a great place to prepare the students for challenges ahead. I believe that working with the parents and the rest of the school staff, that the needs for all the children will be met and exceeded. Thank you for visiting my web page.
