Hi, welcome to Mrs. June Scott's world. As I tell
everyone I have the best job in the whole world. As the counselor I work
with the children, parents, and staff of Concord School. I am able
to observe young people grow and bloom from preschool to fourth
grade.
Each day is different, challenging, and gratifying. How rewarding it is to talk with children. As an advocate I listen and help them reframe situations so that they feel confident to resolve their own issues . An exciting part of my day is working with a group of students intent on improving their study skills. I sincerely believe each child has potential and needs to be encouraged to do his best. The legacy I wish to leave each child I come in contact with is to believe in themselves and feel prepared to solve the problems, large or small, that they face in their lives. I have been in education all my life, first as a student, next as a mother, then as a teacher, and now a counselor. I came to Concord School in 1973 and began teaching 2nd grade, then multi-age, then 3rd for many years.

After earning a masters in counseling, I became the
counselor at Concord. As you can tell by the numbers I have been here a very,
very
long, wonderful time.
I am also known as "The Penguin Lady." I have a family of penguins to share and show. They keep me company in my office. Did you know that there are 17 different kinds of penguins. I have seen at least 10 different kinds in my travels. They are an amazing bird. Make sure you see the documentary, "March of the Penguins." Remember my goal is to serve the children, parents, families, and staff of Concord so make sure you come by and visit. I agree with Walt Whitman who said, "To me, every hour of the day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle." Do come by and say, "Hello."
