About me:

My name is Rita Mueller, and I am the School Psychologist at both Cass Junior High and Concord Elementary School.  I have worked in Cass District #63 since 1991.  I work in the district three days each week, and divide these days between both schools.  

What does a school psychologist do?

As the school psychologist, I serve as  a member on each school's multidisciplinary student support team. I assist with identifying the educational needs of special education students by individually evaluating students' learning aptitude, academic skills, social skills, learning style, and emotional development. I assist teachers and parents with providing appropriate intervention strategies through behavior management, counseling, skills training, and the development of individual education plan (IEP) goals. 

My goals for working with students in district #63 support the district's overall philosophy of fostering acceptance and tolerance for all students. Over the years I have enjoyed watching students grow in their understanding of individuals of all abilities and personalities!
