Social Studies

Throughout the year students will follow U.S. history from the time period of the rise of industry up until the end of the Cold War. We will be using the textbook as a resource throughout our studies as well as many other sources. We will spend a great deal of time using online resources which are available via this website. We urge our students to utilize such sources as the online text book and the American History database, as they will help in their efforts to better understand the material being covered in class.

A typical week may include PowerPoints in class, daily journal entries, bookwork from home, computer activities, current events, and project work in the learning center. Throughout the year, students will find that we like to change the pace quite often. There is much information to cover and many fun ways to accomplish that goal. Our classrooms are set up to try to have the students the focus of the learning. We will be the guides that direct the students to where they should be going, but on the journey, the students will be doing the leg work.
