Blended Preschool Program

The Blended Preschool program serves at-risk, special education, and tuition based students that reside in Cass District 63. In the program children are free to explore developmentally appropriate activities in a safe and nurturing environment.

Cass District 63 Staff

The Early Childhood Teachers are all degreed, certified, and experienced.  Each teacher has their Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood with endorsements in Special Education and English as a Second Language; ESL.

Highlights the preschool curriculum

Conferences
Progress Reports are given three times a year detailing each child's development. Face to face conferences occur two times per year.

Family Programming
There are a variety of opportunities for families to get involved in their child's education through PTO, Foundation for Educational Excellence, family events, class parties, and educational workshops.

A Typical Day

Morning Session:  8:15-10:45 a.m.          Afternoon Session:    12:15-2:45 p.m.

Monday- Friday

Arrival: Students individually check backpacks and take attendance.

Circle Time: Students participate in whole group activities, i.e., stories, rhymes, songs, dances, acting; and “Planning Time”-children indicate play choices.

Centers: Students make individual choices organized around play centers i.e., gross motor, music, art, literacy, blocks/construction, sand/water, pretend, manipulatives, and computer usage, snack is provided.

Clean-up/Quiet Reading/ Story Time: Students work together to clean up play area. Students have a nutritious snack family style. Students read a story quietly on the carpet or to peers/teachers.

Small Group Time: Students participate in small group activities involving math, science, language, writing, and art concepts.

Outdoor/Indoor Music and Movement

Closing Comments and Dismissal: Students are encouraged to collect their belongings independently.
