Cass Junior High School
Cass Junior High > Academics

Cass Junior High School serves students in fifth through eighth grade and believes in a middle school philosophy. Our mission is to create well-rounded students by valuing and stressing both academics and character development. When our students graduate eighth grade, they will have the foundation to succeed at the high school level and to be a contributing member within the community and larger society.

Students are educated in the core curricula of Math, Science, English-Language Arts, and Social Science.  Additionally, students participate in Physical Education, Health, Global Language, and various offerings of Fine Arts, Applied Technology and STEM classes.

At Cass Junior High School, the teachers emphasize metacognition and higher-level thinking. When speaking to your child(ren) about school, ask them to delve deeper and explain things being discussed in their classrooms. It is important to provide an environment that is conducive for homework along with providing structured time for this to occur.  Provide guidance when needed so that you child recognizes that learning is valued both at home as well as at school. Always encourage your child to ask for clarification or assistance from staff when it is needed. We are here to help your child in anyway necessary.

The key to success in middle school is communication. Please do not hesitate to contact teachers and ask questions, especially if you have a concern. You may also contact me with questions, concerns, or suggestions.

We value your children. We want to play a guiding role in helping them to grow into strong, successful and empathetic leaders of our community.
