Pick Up and Drop Off Procedures at School
Please see the bottom of this page to review important pick off and drop off procedures for each school.2024-25 Bus Routes
Regular bus routes, pick up, and drop off times through Sunrise Transportation are completed for the 2024-25 school year. If your family has signed up and paid for a bus route, please locate and review the appropriate pick up and/or drop off location adjacent to your home under the links that were emailed to determine which route and stop your child will utilize. If you cannot locate the email with the links to the routes, please contact your child's school office. If you have not registered and paid fees for the bus, your child is not permitted to utilize these services. If you decide bus services are needed for your child, please contact your child's school office. Please note that if an existing stop is not available to you, we will need time to make adjustments to the route.
Communication Procedures
Parents should contact Sunrise Transportation dispatch directly at 630-541-3414 should your child’s bus is late, appears to have missed your stop, or if your child did not arrive home on the bus. Please contact transportation director Keith Monaco at kmonaco@cassd63.org should you have any questions about the bus routes or stops.Bus Procedures and Guidelines
Please review the important bus procedures and guidelines under the link above. Keep in mind that it is the responsibility of parents to get children safely to and from the bus stop, and it is the district's responsibility to get children safely from the bus stop to school. Also, pick up and drop off locations are neighborhood stops, and not likely to be immediately adjacent to or near a particular student’s home. Students should be waiting for the bus several minutes before the designated stop time. We appreciate your assistance and cooperation in keeping our kids safe!

Cass Junior High Pick Up and Drop Off Procedures
School starts at 8:45 a.m. School doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for the general school day. Please be aware that school supervision will not begin until 8:30 a.m. The general school day ends at 3:30 p.m.
- Students who do not take the bus should be dropped off and picked up at the North side entrance on Willow Creek Lane.
- For safety reasons, Willow Creek Lane is restricted to east bound travel only during drop off and pick up times. For the safety of all, please do not enter Willow Creek in a West bound direction until the orange cones have been removed. The Darien Police have and will continue to enforce this restriction at these times.
- For student safety, we ask that students be dropped off and picked up on the passenger side of the vehicle at the designated areas only. Local traffic and buses will be utilizing the left hand lane and passing vehicles on the driver’s side of vehicles.
- We ask that if your child is walking to or from school that they stay on the sidewalks, cross at the corners and off of private property.
- Please respect and follow traffic directions from our traffic supervisors.
- Please observe all signs with regards to turning prohibitions.
- Please remember the speed limit on school grounds is 5 mph.
- Please do not stop in front of or use private driveways for turning around. Help us be a good neighbor to the number of homes that surround our school.
- Do not drop off or pick up students in the front parking lot between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 am and between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 pm. This area is designated for buses during this time.
- Finally, please remember that it is illegal for drivers in the State of Illinois to use hand-operated cell phones or other electronic devices, including but not limited to texting.
Children’s safety is the number one goal and that was the main focus when developing this plan in cooperation with the local police, county sheriff, parents and neighbors. Please keep in mind that for this to be successful, patience and 100% cooperation are a necessity. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the School Office. Thank you.

Concord Elementary Pick Up and Drop Off Procedures
School starts at 8:00 a.m. School doors will open at 7:45 a.m. for the general school day. Please be aware that school supervision begins at 7:45 a.m. The general school day ends at 2:45 p.m.
- Each Concord family will be given a copy of the official “Concord” pick up sign. Additional copies are available upon request in the School Office.
- Please PRINT the first and last name of all students you will be picking up each day.
- Place/tape the sign in the passenger side back window of the vehicle you will be driving when you pick up Concord student(s).
- This “Concord” sign allows staff members to recognize that the driver is familiar with the Concord Elementary School car line procedures, assists staff members in ensuring the students are in the correct cars, and facilitates efficient and safe dismissal procedures.
- Please respect and follow traffic directions from our traffic supervisors.
- A single line of cars enters the Concord parking lot and follows along the front (East side) of the building. The speed limit is 5 mph. While waiting in line on Concord Place, please be courteous to our neighbors and refrain from blocking or turning around in private driveways.
- Prekindergarten students will be picked up by the gym doors. Please go through the regular car rider line and make a right hand turn into the back parking lot.
- Staff members on duty along the Concord parking lot sidewalk will alert parents when it is time to permit students to exit vehicles from the passenger side of the cars. Staff members will release students at dismissal when their ride has arrived. At no time will students be permitted to enter or exit cars from the driver side of the car or walk in between cars.
- Once the single line of cars around the drop off area is ready to leave the driveway, the staff members on duty will wave the line on and a new single line is formed along the sidewalk. This will allow us to empty and/or load approximately 15-20 cars at a time.
- Car drivers should stay in the car at all times and pay close attention to pedestrians, buses and other vehicles.
- Please refrain from parking on the street to drop off or pick up your child. This slows traffic patterns as well as causes frustrations to those around you who follow the proper procedures. As not all cars on the road are waiting to get into our schools, please also move as far right on the road as possible. This will allow thru traffic to get by on your left.
- If you need to pick up your child(ren) prior to dismissal time, we ask that you do so before 2:30 p.m. each day. To help facilitate this process, we ask that you send a note or call the office to notify both the teacher and the office staff that your child(ren) will be leaving early.
- If you need to change how your student is to go home on or before afternoon dismissal please send a note in the morning or call the office prior to 2:00 p.m. each day. Please do not email the teacher without also calling the office, as teachers do not always have planning time to check email throughout the day.
- At Concord, the school day starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m., while direct staff supervision is from 7:45 to 3:00. Parents of students left unsupervised outside of these hours before or after school may have their children added to the Ivy League Kids program and charged accordingly.
- If your child attends Ivy League Kids after school, you will need to wait until dismissal procedures are completed at 2:50 p.m.
- Finally, please remember that the law prohibits the use of hand held cell phones in school street zones and parking lots for any reason, including, but not limited to, talking and texting.
Children’s safety is the number one goal and that was the focus when developing this plan in cooperation with the local police, county sheriff, parents and neighbors. Please keep in mind that for this to be successful, patience and 100% cooperation are a necessity. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the School Office. Thank you.
