Thank you for your interest in Cass School District 63. If your family is new to our district or if you are a returning family, please familiarize yourself with our registration process and procedures below. In addition, we invite you and your family to schedule a visit to our schools.
Registration for the 2024-25 school year opens on Wednesday, March 20. Here is the Parent Guide to Registration. Following are the school supply lists for the 2024-25 school year. Due to low participation in recent years, CARE will not be providing school supply kits this school year, so please plan accordingly.

How do I register my child(ren)?
PowerSchool Registration
If you are registering a returning student, the first step in our registration process is to access your PowerSchool account and register each of your children separately. There is a tab at the bottom left of the Registration Page that has each child’s name to allow easy toggling to the next child. See the Parent Guide to Registration for more detailed instructions on the registration process.
Please be sure you have completed the registration for each child. You have not completed it until you have reached and submitted the "Finishing Step to Registration Process."

How do I prove residency?
Proof of Residency
You must be a resident of Cass School District 63 in order for your child(ren) to attend Cass Junior High School or Concord Elementary School. Please be aware that the District requires annual proof of residency. If a family is found to have falsified their residency information to access Cass School District 63 educational offerings illegally, the District will utilize the full extent of the law as well as seek restitution for all educational and legal costs.
If you are not a resident of Cass School District 63 but would like your child(ren) to attend Cass School District 63 schools, you may submit a request for your child(ren) to attend District schools on a tuition basis to the Superintendent who will then submit the request to the Board of Education for consideration.
What you need to Establish Residency
Proof of residency must be established by presenting one document from Category I and one document from Category II.
Category I (provide one of the following):
- Most Recent Real Estate Tax Bill
- Current Signed Lease
Category II (provide one of the following):
- Current Gas Bill
- Current Electric Bill
- Current Water Bill
"A person who knowingly and/or willfully presents to any school district any false information regarding the residency of a pupil for the purpose of enabling that pupil to attend any school in that district without the payment of a non-resident tuition charge shall be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor." (105 ILCS 5/10-20.12b)
District Boundaries
Cass School District 63 is a small elementary school district in DuPage County, Illinois. The District serves students in grades prekindergarten through eight who reside in portions of Darien, Willowbrook and some local unincorporated areas. Concord Elementary School and Cass Junior High are both located in Darien, which is 15 miles west of Chicago.Under Illinois statute, residence in the school district is required to attend Cass School District 63. Parents who are not residents of the district and are interested in attending schools in the district must contact Superintendent Mark Cross to request information regarding the process and applicable tuition.If you are unsure if your residence falls within District boundaries, please visit the DuPage County Property Records Search and there you will find a tool that allows you to look up your address to see which school district your residence falls within. You may also reach out to the DuPage County Clerk's Office at 630-407-5500 and they can also answer this question.The following map shows approximate school district boundaries, but prospective residents and home buyers should always refer to the ten-digit property index number (PIN) on the property tax bill that uniquely identifies your property and ultimately determines if a particular residence is within the borders of Cass School District 63. If your permanent, full-time residence is within district boundaries, your tax bill will include "GRADE SCHOOL DIST 63" under the listing of taxing districts. -
What forms & documents do I need to register?
Documents & Forms
Each year, all families must provide current versions of the following on file within their school's main office:
- Proof of Residency - Information will be submitted through PowerSchool registration
- Physical Form - Please note, this form is Required for all students entering into Prekindergarten, Kindergarten and Sixth Grade or new students entering the District.
- Dental Form - Please note, this form is Required for all students entering into Kindergarten, Second and Sixth Grade or new students entering the District from out of state schools.
- Eye Exam Form - Please note this form is Required for all Kindergarten or new students entering the District from out of state schools.
- IESA-IHSA Sports Physical Form - Please note, this form is Required for all students participating in a school sport.
If you are enrolling a new student, the following documents are required:
- Proof of Residency
- Student Information Form
- Student Record Release Authorization Form (if applicable)
- Medical Requirements as Noted Above
- Original Birth Certificate Provided to School Office

How do I pay for registration?
Payment Options
Cass School District 63 accepts payment via Credit Card, cash, or check made payable to Cass School District 63.
Credit Card and echeck payments may be made online through My School Bucks. You may access the payment portal through PowerSchool registration or you may go directly to the My School Bucks program. Please note that there is a 4.95% service charge on payments through My School Bucks. For families not already registered with My School Bucks, an identification number is required to register. If you do not have that number, you may contact your child's school office and they can give that number to you.
If you are going to pay by check or exact cash rather than by credit card through the online link, please complete the Fee Payment Worksheet and print it to send in with your payment so that we may properly apply your payment. Payment must be sent to the District Office within seven (7) days of completing online registration. If payment cannot be made within seven days, please contact Gayle Wilson at 331-481-4000 or at gwilson@cassd63.org.
If you intend to apply for Fee Waiver, please contact the district office at 331-481-4000 option 3. The application for fee waiver will be available on August 1, 2023 under the Fee Waiver and Free & Reduced Lunch Application tab.

What if I am new to the district?
Prospective Cass School District 63 Families
Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child(ren) in Cass School District 63. We know there are many quality educational options available to your family and we are honored that you are considering Cass School District 63. We do not take lightly the responsibility of educating and safeguarding a family’s loved one(s) and you have our commitment that we will provide a high quality education within a safe and caring environment.
Enrollment in Cass School District 63 is in two parts. Please follow the instructions below to complete New Student Enrollment.
Please understand that you must be living within District boundaries at the time of registration. A signed lease or mortgage for a future move-in date is not sufficient to register your child(ren). If you are unsure if your residence falls within District boundaries, please visit the DuPage County Property Records Search and there you will find a tool that allows you to look up your address to see which school district your residence falls within. You may also reach out to the DuPage County Clerk's Office at 630-407-5500 and they can also answer this question.
The following documents are required to complete New Student Enrollment:
- Proof of Residency
- Original Birth Certificate presented to the school office (copies will not be accepted)
- Student Information Form
- Student Record Release Authorization Form (if applicable)

What medical requirements do I need to be aware of?
Medical Requirements
The State of Illinois has medical requirements that must be met for all students. Following is a list of those requirements:
Prekindergarten
- Physical Examination dated within one year prior to the first day of the school year and submitted to the District on the State of Illinois Department of Human Services Certificate of Child Health Examination
- Immunizations as follows:
- Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus (4 doses at proper intervals)
- Polio (3 doses at proper intervals)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) (1 dose on or after the first birthday)
- Hepatitis B (3 doses at proper intervals)
- Varicella (Chicken Pox) (1 dose on or after the first birthday)
- Pneumococcal Conjugate (PCV) (Children aged 24-59 months of age, entering a child-care or school program below the kindergarten level shall show proof of immunizations that comply with the pneumococcal vaccination schedule. Those children who have not received the primary series of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, according to the recommended vaccination schedule shall show proof of receiving at least one (1) dose of pneumococcal vaccine)
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) (children aged 24-59 months of age, entering a child-care or school program below the kindergarten level shall show proof of immunizations that comply with the Hib vaccination schedule. Those children who have not received the primary series of Hib vaccine, according to the recommended vaccination schedule shall show proof of receiving at least one (1) dose of Hib vaccination)
Kindergarten (or students entering an Illinois school for the 1st time)
- Physical Examination completed by a licensed physician and dated within one year prior to the first day of the school year and submitted to the District on the State of Illinois Department of Human Services Certificate of Child Health Examination
- Immunizations as follows:
- Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus (4 or more doses at proper intervals with the last dose being a booster received on or after 4th birthday)
- Polio (4 doses at proper intervals with the last dose being a booster received on or after 4th birthday)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) (2 doses on or after first birthday at proper intervals)
- Varicella (Chicken Pox) (2 doses on or after the first birthday at proper intervals)
- Vision Examination completed by a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist and submitted to the District on the Vision Examination Report.
- Dental Examination completed by a licensed dentist and submitted to the District on the Proof of School Dental Examination Form.
Second Grade
- Dental Examination completed by a licensed dentist and submitted to the District on the Proof of School Dental Examination Form.
Sixth Grade
- Physical Examination completed by a licensed physician and dated within one year prior to the first day of the school year and submitted to the District on the State of Illinois Department of Human Services Certificate of Child Health Examination
- Immunizations as follows:
- Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus (3 or more doses at proper intervals with the last dose being a booster received on or after 4th birthday)
- Tdap on or after 11th birthday
- Polio (4 doses at proper intervals with the last dose being a booster received on or after 4th birthday)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) (2 doses on or after 1st birthday at proper intervals)
- Hepatitis B (3 doses at proper intervals)
- Varicella (Chicken Pox) (2 doses on or after the first birthday at proper intervals)
- Meningococcal Conjugate (MCV-4) on or after 11th birthday
- Dental Examination completed by a licensed dentist and submitted to the District on the Proof of School Dental Examination Form.
Please note that any student who is not in compliance with the medical and vaccine requirements by October 15 of each school year will be excluded from attending school until they are in compliance with the medical requirements. Any students who do not have their dental form on file in the school office by May 15 of the school year may have their report card withheld until such time as the student is in compliance.
Students Transferring from Out of State
If your family is transferring from out of state, please be aware that we will require a physical with immunization records, dental exam and vision exam regardless of grade level.
Sports Participation
All students who wish to participate in an interscholastic or intramural sport must have a current sport’s physical on file in order to participate. Please note that this physical is good for 395 days from the date of the examination. If your child plays both a Fall and Spring sport, please make sure that your physical will cover both sport seasons. Please see the form entitled IHSA/IESA Pre-participation Examination.
Medication Dispensing Permission Form
If your child(ren) has/have a medical need such as administering of medications, food allergy, asthma or any other condition that requires monitoring during the school day, you must have your child(ren)’s doctor complete the form entitled Student Medication Permission Form and/or Medication Permission Form for Asthma Inhalers. All necessary physical forms and/or permissions forms must be turned in to the school office by the first Friday in August of each year.

What if my child(ren) need to take a bus?
Transportation
You will have the option to secure, for a fee, bus transportation for your child(ren). Bus routes begin for the Cass Junior High School Encore hour Band and Chorus students at 6:45 a.m. and for the regular school day at 8:00 a.m. Bus service begins for Concord Elementary School at 7:15 a.m. Bus routes will be finalized and distributed on Orientation Day. If your child(ren) would like to take the Encore bus at Cass Junior High School, please contact the Cass Junior High School Office to sign up for that route.
Please be aware that students who are not registered for bus, are not permitted to ride the bus at any time. Students who are found riding the bus when they have not been registered to do so, will face disciplinary action, which may include suspension from school.

If the time designated for your family presents a conflict, please contact your child’s school office to make alternate arrangements.
Outstanding fee payment is required prior to receiving your child’s teacher assignments or schedule.
*All Cass Junior High students will have school pictures taken on Orientation Day. This includes 8th grade students, although there will also be formal 8th grade pictures taken later in the school year.

When is the first day of school?
2024-25 District Calendar
